Annissa Allen-Gore

My year of service definitely taught me patience and to give others some grace because you never know what they’re going through. I still keep in touch with some of my former students, and seeing them grow, graduate, and go off to college warms my heart. My students and I learned so much from each other, and it was an unforgettable experience.

A successful fellow is someone who is caring, kind, willing to learn, an advocate for themselves and others, and willing to adapt. I faced some challenges during my years of service, but I always advocated for what I needed, which helped me persevere.
