How We Measure Success

The GO Fellowship model is fundamentally about improving equity — for individual students, in underserved communities, and within the broader educational landscape. Through intensive one-year teaching Fellowships, we seek to create meaningful change in the following areas:

Student Achievement

We work to ensure that all children have access to the academic and emotional support they need for high school, college, and career success.

Investing in the Community

We provide specialized support to build relationships with students and parents and create communities where everyone is valued.

Combating Racism

We seek diverse candidates who are passionate about being lifelong advocates for educational justice for the GO Fellowship program.

Creating a Pipeline of Talent

We guide our Fellows’ professional development and provide resources, mentorship, and training to help them become effective classroom teachers.

Creating Transformative Impact

Tutoring is among the most effective education interventions ever to be subjected to rigorous evaluation.

And I’d like to challenge all of our [school] leaders to set a goal of giving every child that fell behind during the pandemic at least 30 minutes per day, three days a week, with a well-trained tutor who is providing that child with consistent, intensive support. We cannot expect classroom teachers to do it all themselves.
